Amp stopped working

Okay so I have a BAMF 5500d (not bad for the price)

I was using it a couple nights ago and the subs sounded a little weird kind of like a clipping noise but it was different. It was kind of like every note sounded higher than it should have been.

Anyway the amp just shut off a few minutes later and i looked at it when i got home and the power light was off showing that it wasn't receiving power. (it was not in protect either)

I checked my connections they were good. I checked my fuses and they were all good. I have no idea what it could have been. Would cold weather play a role in it at all? Help me please.

could have blown it...I dont think amps take to kindly to being just turned on full blast in cold weather..I mean same thing with a car if its freezing cold outside your not going to want to go out of your drive way and slam on the gas and gun the engine because it would tear it up..it needs to heat up a bit give it a second to warm up..I know every time I even change a song in my car I turn down the volume a little bit first because of some of the sudden bursts in the music..I dunno just me.

i took it to best buy just to see what they would say and they said i might have a bad channel

Take it to a guy that actually knows what hes doing. Send it to db-r.

Best buy will sometimes replace the amp, which I would say is the better scenario for him.

Odds are is that if he asks dB-r, I'll see this amp anyways.

Typically when you are not able to get enough power to the amp, and the amp's voltage drops for a output cycle, which turns the amp off until you reach an appropriate voltage again, which causes you to hear something similar to a squealing noise as it cuts out at the same frequency as the signal attempted to be reproduced.

In other words, did it squeal at the same freq as the notes being played?
