AMP sparked now whining sound

I was connecting a speaker terminal to my amp and it sparked now I have alot of whining noise. Is this fixable or am i screwed? thanks for any help.

you should have turned the system off. lesson learned.

list the equipment you're using. head unit, amplifier, processor, etc...
