Amp sounds like crap

I was using a Kenwood excelon old school(the all silver model) 4 channel amp before to power an Ascendent Audio Assassin 10" and Rainbow 265 SLCs. Sounded great, was exactly what I wanted/needed. Well, the life of my amp came to an end. So I had to purchase another.

I went with a MB Quart DSC4150. I hooked everything up to what I thought was what I needed. Fired it up and.......

It sounds like shit. It gets loud, much louder than my Kenwood. It doesnt distort. Im not hearing anything wrong with the speakers, it just has a much different sound. I would personally describe it as my teeters sound like they are made of a different material.

Now, is this change in sound just the difference in amps or do you think something has changed

I'm 97% sure I didnt touch anything on the deck to alter the signal.

are you putting more wattage to them now? if so that could be why the tweeters sound brighter maybe try some attenuation on the crossovers -3db or even -6db might give you back the sound you want.

So basically you guys are all saying that Kenwood was much better than the MB quart?

Not saying you guys are wrong cause you're the experts but I find that hard to believe.

I always hear good reviews about MBs components. Are they just a bad amp company?

Just trying to learn about the products in the situation. No need for everyone to get insulting.
