ok so i have another problem with this amp and i have no clue what could have gone wrong this time. i thought i figured this amp out by now but i guess not. so i was on my way home from a fishin trip one day and i was playin my music pretty loud for about 30 minutes by the time it started to make a funny smell. i thought it was just something outside so i didnt pay attention to it. then i started to notice the subs werent playing as loud. so then i knew something was going on. the smell kept getting worse and worse. i look over and under my seat there is a bunch of smoke pouring out of the amp.i pull over as fast as i could and make sure nothing in my car was set on fire.then i touched the amp and it was pretty hot. hotter than its ever been even after playing it hard for hours. i donno what went wrong here. i made sure my connections to the amp were solid and nothing was hangin out. and they were. so could anyone give me suggestions on why my amp might be smoking? i really dont feel like spending another 40 something dollars on shipping this amp back to the manufacturer. and yes i have already done it once. if anyone can help id really appreciate it.

thanks,

-eric

ok the amp is one ohm stable and im only running it at a 2 ohm load.

the subs are dvc 4 ohm rockford p3s.

and no this is a different problem. last time i was a retard and put the ground cable into the power connection and the power in to the ground. and the amp i have doesnt have internal fuses for some reason so it just blew it right there. and im in cumming, ga. next to lake lanier. i think its pretty far from where im at. but if you wanna meet up thatd be cool.

and i donno what is smoking.i havent looked yet. but even if i opened it up i wouldnt know what to look for.

Yeah I'm a pretty good distance. There are a few guys up that way though...

Give me some more info about the number of subs you're running

Also - did you double check your grounds and everything? Did you hook it up - or a shop?

im sorry i meant they are dvc 2 ohm subs. and a shop hooked them up. but i know how to do everything. my mom just offered she would pay for it so its less trouble for me. but they are rockford p3s the slim series. they are in a single cab truck in a sealed box. two 12's. getting 650 watts between the two of them. the amp is at a two ohm load. and i have some pictures to give you an idea of whats goin on.

without flash so you can see the burnt spot.

thanks again.

it looks like moisture got in there and straight ***** your amp....

my old old amp was a moisture trap and it would always stay in protect, but it may have killed your amp.

nope just on those things i took a picture of. i really dont know the names of any of the amps components. i just noticed the water on those black things i took pictures off and then that big black mark on the other side of the amp and water. but i dont see how i could have gotten water in it. it was hot as hell out that day and when i was playing it the amp its self was warm too.
