amp size/power rating?

ive been curious. Some amps that give say 100x4 are absolutely huge. Something along the lines of PPI or sundown 100.4, yet some amps that give a ton of power arent even close to being that big like my sundown 150.4
Whats the reason behind that?
Class AB vs Class D, Class D is much smaller and more efficient.

I just got a Massive Audio N3 (class D). That amp is smaller than a 2001 mmats D200HC (class D)and puts out around the same RMS, which is smaller than a OS RF 1501BD (class A/B) that puts out about the same rms power. And the mmats is small as shizz to begin with .... I was very impressed when I ran that little N3 up on the bench last night .....

That heatsink's shape, color, and plexi bottom is just like the US Amps. I like it.

Getting a good voltage reading does not mean good power transfer. You could read 13.8v out of a 24 AWG wire. Recheck your amplifier's ground and...

No need to bypass the amp. Most use an LOC that takes the full amped signal and turns it into a flat RCA level signal. Here is the newest I have...
