amp shuts down and then turns back up when I lower volume

I have a kicker CX300.4 600 watts series amp , see link below :

Kicker CXSeries CX300.4 600W Class AB Bridgeable Multichannel Amplifier with BuiltIn Crossovers Black 12CX3004 - Best Buy

when I turn up my sound very loud to almost max after a few minutes the kicker amp stops putting out sound to my 4 hertz speakers. My ALPINE MRX-M1OOO on my JL audio subwoofer continues to work though and this is why I believe it is the kicker amp. Once I lower the volume the kicker puts out sound again so for some reason it is not handling the power. I am running 8 gage on both power and ground on the kicker and 4 gage on my alpine so I am wondering if this 8 gage could be the cause. Any tips? It seems to dropping into a safe zone or something, I had an old earthquake amp 600 watts as well and I never had this problem with 8 Gage .

these are my speakers

so turn down the gain? sound is crisp and clean so didn't think I clipping the speakers.
you dont hear clipping a lot of the times with 4 channels, the amp is being overworked trying to put out power it might not be able to produce. Check the grounds again and use a Digital Multi-meter to monitor voltages at the amp at full blast. Might also go into protect from lack of current.

The amp is only 75 watts rms per channel so I do feel I am pushing it and I checked the manual and they call for 8 gage. The ground is very close , 3 ft. Maybe I need a bigger amp, more watts? My earthquake was such a beast compared to this kicker, and 100$ cheaper and they are both 600 watts but never had an issue with earthquake.

low voltage meaning I'm not getting enough power? Maybe a new battery? I will say this , when the bass hits my headlights dim hard. Harder than any other car I've had and I've had this same set up in other cars.

Most of that does not matter. # 1 GO BUY YOURSELF A DIGITAL MULTI-METER. Put it on the amp's positive and negative terminals and play your loudest hardest hitting songs. LOOK at what the voltage reading is. If you dont even do something as basic as this, you'll always keep having trouble. Learn to monitor and care for your system.

I have tuned with multimeters but never with my 4 channel amps since they are low wattages but will to attempt to fix this problem. If I recall it is rms x ohms square rooted? something like this .... I will look into this. No I do not have big 3, didnt feel the need for a single 10'' x 600 watt rms woofer and some 80 watt speakers. I hope this is not the case cause it seems lie ka lot of work and money.

Make sure the under hood ground is sanded and solid. It was not in my car

When did I say to tune with the multi meter? I said to monitor voltages which is your vehicle's voltage not tuning any amps.

I didnt understand but Im getting there, So what am I looking for , drops in voltage? Ok, good tip. I will check this out later today.

If you test it at the amp's positive and negative terminals you'll see what voltage the amp is getting. Play your system hard and you'll see if your electrical system can keep up with your power draw.
