i just installed my x600.1 amp today with my old mtx thunder 8000 sub..it didnt seem to pound to hard until i set the sensitivity up to 75%...is it okay to do this? or amp i going to blow the sub? the amp is putting out 600rms into a 400rms sub..

can u guys help me what i should set my amp settings to? the sensitivity is from .8 to 2 and the bass boost is up to 18db. Im going in a sealed box. I just want to know what settings is good enough for the sub to pound without blowing it.

well for one thing you are going to sacrifice output having that mtx in the sealed box. Secondly no one can tell you exactly where your gain should be set at. Some head units alow you to be able to turn it up almost all the way before clipping occurs. Just check out the gain tutorial. Your best bet is to get a volt meter, and go from their.

Thanks for the info, made the setting changes and that did the trick. Toyed with the amp gain to get the amplitude balanced out, then tweaked...
