Amp recommendations for a single sa8v2??

Hey guys, so I've been convinced to stray away from the w7 and get a sa8 v2 just because of the **** price of this thing! I'm still looking into getting pretty good sound quality out of the sundown so I'll need some amp recommendations for some hight quality amps that push around 600rms at 2 ohm. Or should I just run an amp at 1 Ohm pushing 600? I just want this thing to sound good and not draw too much power since I have a ****** 4 banger! haha Anyways, my price range is up to 300. I was looking at the hifonics gladiator that would be putting 750 at 2 ohms. Would that draw too much power from my car, and would that be too much rms for that sa to last? I'm not sure what enclosure to build for this little guy yet either. All comments and recommendations will be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Those Kicker amps are nice. I have the zx 400.1 in my other car and never had any issues with it. You should go with the 750 b/c I'd rather give it a little too much power than not enough.

I'll check those out. Any info on the alpine pdx's? m6. JL xd600/1? hifonics gladiator 1000 (2 ohms would be 750rms) is that too much for the sa to last? That would probably draw too much power, though.

I'd look for something that puts out around 1000w at whatever ohm load you prefer. Your car will handle it fine, I've got a shitty little 4 banger too, it's no problem. These subs are beasts and can easily take 1k all day, but I'd set the gains to 800w, just to keep it clean and have some head-room.

Yea, the Hifonics will draw a lot of current because it's cheap, and most cheap amps are terribly inefficient. And you can get much better for under $300

The amp this seller has here is Brand new, and he's dropped his price as low as $160 shipped to your door. It does 1000w @ 2 ohm (underrated), and like I said, you could set the gains to like 800w and have plenty of head-room, keeping it very clean. Here it is: http://www.caraudio.com/forums/amplifier-classifieds/526890-fs-avionixx-cxd-2800m-class-d-1ohm-stable-1300wrms%3B-brand-new-unused.html

Here's another beast of an amp right at $300. I know it way more than you need right now, but you'll have a ton of power on tap if you ever decide to upgrade in the future: http://www.caraudio.com/forums/amplifier-classifieds/544627-aq-2200-fs.html

Here's an SAZ 1500 for $300 shipped, it's an absolute beast, and probably puts out closer to 1800w at 1 ohm. You'd have it at 2 ohms though, and set your gains accordingly, so the advantage would be you have more power available for upgrades. And it's very efficient: http://www.caraudio.com/forums/amplifier-classifieds/543573-sundown-saz-1500d-great-shape-v1.html

Here's a Treo RSX1900. Treo makes some of the best amplifiers in the game. They're notorious for a highly efficient, small foot-print, clean sounding amplifier. This thing is at a steal of a price, he's gone as low as $170 shipped: http://www.caraudio.com/forums/amplifier-classifieds/532359-fs-treo-rsx1900.html

ANY of these amps would blow away the hifonics in looks, efficiency, reliability, and clean power.

I'm really not looking into "that" much headroom, but I'll take a look at them. I'll most likely want to buy new, too. After reading your post, I feel better about getting somewhere in the 750 rms range. I just want to keep it simple, clean sounding, and efficient more so than just pure power. Anyone else have any amps they like for an sa8?

Do you really think you won't ever want another sub in the future? :\ And if you wanna keep it new, then get that Avionixx I linked first. It's BNIB, he only opened it for pictures. And it's $160. 1k at 2 ohms, it'll be pretty perfect. It's gonna be better than anything else you find in a store for under $250. And a couple of those other amps might not be BNIB, but are still in mint condition. The only advantage you get buying from an actual store is you get to spend more money.

Get a good solid old school class AB amp and bridge it if your looking for the best available SQ
I say the OP should go for the cheapest, most reliable, and efficient power that he can find because the subwoofer is the LEAST important component of the musical reproduction experience! Old school AB doesn't meet the efficient criteria since current draw seems to be a concern.
