Amp randomly blew?

So i DMMed my amp the other day to make sure the gains were correct. Had a memphis PRD1000.1 set for 800wrms at volume 25. There rated for 1000 so the gain was at maybe 1oclock with the sub lvl at 12 vs max of 15

Been jammin fine, rocked out on the way to class. Then i get in a few hours later to take my girl to work and nothing...... Blue power light comes on, amp clicks but dosnt put out any power. WTF?

I checked the fuses and tryed pulling out the RCAs and stickin em back in.... Nothing moves around so idk how a wire could of come loose, but the amp would go to protect if a wire came loose right? Im so pissed

check everything first before coming to conclusions. Make sure your wires are all connected correctly. Make sure the sub is still wired in the box if no checks show anything you need to open that amp up and find what is wrong.

not always josh ,check all the connections and also check voltage at the power and remote wire ,and check the ground too.
ok ill check the other stuff. But i went out there with a DMM and the speaker terminals arnt putting any power out so i know its not the wires running to the sub....

Just checked....

Power wires reading 14V at idle

remote wires reading 13V

and ground wire has continuity

All fuses are good

This is similar to what it did before it went to amp medics last time, but then atleaste it was semi functional. I cant get anything out of it now

do you have a volt meter ?what's you power wire and amp alt size?

i have a hc 600 in the rear and i cant play too loud without getting bad voltage drop maybe you were loosing volts and didnt know it.

I have 4G power and a 136amp alt. At max volume im running 1100watts and thats only 85amps so i dont think i was gettin bad drops but idk

what deck do you have ? maybe there is a reset button on the deck.if so try that.
Alpine CDA-105, i dont think theres a reset button. But i have no idea

Most alpines have a reset button. Pop off the faceplate and there should be a small red button somewhere. You're gonna need to use a pencil or something sharp to press it. Make sure the headunit is off and then press down on the button for a solid 10 seconds. If that doesn't fix anything, remove the fuse going to your amp for a few seconds and then put it back in. It removes any power going to the amp and resets the hardware. Had a problem similar to this with an AP1500 and restricting the power for a couple seconds fixed it.

Cool thanks for the info, ill give both of them a shot.

If it has a speaker relay then there could be a fault in the protection circuitry, there could be so many issues and it will probably need repair
I think thats what steve over at ampmedics did last trip, i think im just going to replace vs getting it repaired a 3rd time. Last 2 times it hasnt lasted 2weeks
