Amp "NEW" on ebay, no serial #'s??!

I just got my 300/4v2 from a west coast store on ebay. They have a ton of feedback and are almost 100%+. The auction clearly states "Brand New, Factory Sealed, NO REFURBS" So I received it today only to find serial # removed from the box and amp. Also, one of the back panel screws was no put in all the way. Other than that the amp looks 100% brand new and works perfect! I dont really care though, I just want to know why they remove the #'s if the amp is really "NIB"

Yeah I asked them whats up, they prolly wont respond till Monday...

Not that Im too upset about it, I take it easy with my stuff and dont plan on abusing it.

Yeah thats what I figured, the only authorized internet JL dealer is Crutchfield that I know of..

MFGs remove serial number ,,,,Its perfecly fine as it has no warrenty

this is exactally the case. thats why they are so much cheaper than authorizes dealers are.
