Amp questions help!

ok i have a 1000 watt amp, hooked up to a Alpine type r. when i go to play a song say amilli i could get 5 secs into the song hear the 1st bass part. than my amp wont work. so i would turn the car off take out the fuses and put them back in. than it would work. i have a 8 gage wire going from my batt to my amp. on the fuse box near my batt i have a 40 fuse. and on my amp i have 2 40 fuses.

should i get a bigger fuse?

also what size cap should you get for a 750 watt amp?
