I have two JL Audio 12W6v2's and need one amp to power both of them. They are 4-ohm subs. Do i need to look for an amp that will do 1000x1 at 4 ohms or 1000x1 at 2 ohms, cuz i dont know how i would wire it. And does anybody know any amps that will put 500 watts a piece into them?

you would look for an amp tha can do 1000 watts @ 2 ohms and wire the subs parallell, meening + to + and - to -.

I ahve no amp recomendations tho //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Could i use the Hifonics brutus amp?(Specs below)Could i wire it that way?

1500 watts RMS @ 1 ohm

1000 watts RMS @ 2 ohms

500 watts RMS @ 4 ohms

1 Ohm stable design (perfect for dual 2 ohm subs)

sure could! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

personally i like to run 1/0 guage "just in case, for upgrades" but 4 guage will do ya good for the hifonics amp. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Not sure what size the fuse is? Came in the 8 gauge rockford wiring kit? Any ideas on what it needs to be for that amp?And could the rca cables and remote on wire stay the same?

maybe a 80 amp fuse for 4 guage wire. And if you have no noises coming into ur current RCA's ( like if u run it next to the power wire) then no u do not need to change that. Also you do not need to change ur remote turn on wire either.

you'll only see about 750w from the brutus at 2 ohms. Xenon 1200.1, 1200 watts at any ohm level.

For wattage like that, you might want to get an ANL, like 100 amps for a 4 gauge kit.
