amp protection mode at high volume

hello hope you guys can help.

i have a 1100 watt Sony xplode 2 subs that are dual 2omh 1200 watt Rockford fosgates p3

okay so the problem is when i put the volume up amp goes in protection mode.

things i already tried:

find a better/different ground

un plug rca and see if it still goes in protection mode (it doesn't)

wire subs in different ways + to +s - to -s, and tried tie both positives and negitive together and put + on one and - on one.

also try turning down gain bass boost still goes in protection mode.

so made me think i have a bad sub so i hook only one sub up works prefect i try the other work perfect.

is it because subs need more power then amp is giving?

wire each sub in series and then parallel the two subs together.

okay so your saying wire the sub down to 1ohm the parallel both + to one channel then both - to the opposite channel the that what make .5 ohm?

right now i have then hook up in parallel but not sure but i doubt there in series

oh never mind had that back wards wire then so each is 4 ohms them wire them to amp to make them go to 2 ohm okay ill try that thank you

oh its left at 4 ohms okay thank you very much ill let you know if fort some reason it doesn't work
