ok i have two 10" diamond audio d6's d4 ohms, powered by a 2 channel kenwood kac7203 1000w amp. my problem is that when ever i keep the music on for say 5-10 minutes, the amp gets very hot like hot enough as to where i cant keep my hand on it for more than a second. why is this happening? i have heard that kenwood amps are garbage is this why? maybe not enough airflow or am i trying to run too much power through the amp.
info on amp:
RMS Power @ 4 Ohms: 170W x 2
RMS Power @ 2 Ohms: 250 Watts x 2
RMS Power @ 4 Ohms (Bridged): 500 watts x 1
subs:
Power Handling NOM/MAX: 500/1000 Watts
Sensitivity (2.83V/1m): 85 dB SPL
Freq. Response: 23-250 Hz
Mounting Depth: 6.2 in.
Diameter: 9.2 in.
please someone help me out and maybe someone could reccomend a cheap amp that will work in the meantime while i build up funds to buy a quality one. or should i get another and run both subs to their own amps.
