Amp powered by RCA and Remote??

So after fiddling with my connections and retrying all of them after taking them out, i noticed that i was able to make the red light of protection come on after having just the RCA's and the remote wire in..How is this possible? there was no ground nor power wire from the battery connected. any help would be appreciated
