Amp Output > Speaker Output

Do most have amps that are actually rated in Max RMS output that exceeds that of the speakers you have them connected to or do you attempt to match max RMS for max RMS? Why or why not? Just curious. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

 
I guess what I am asking is I am curious about getting a 750W Max RMS amp for 300W subs...I suppose as long as I don't crank the gains and set it properly there should be no harm, no foul.

 
See how low you can get it to go into that 300w area. Depending on the power handling of the sub, it should take some more clean power just fine.
