Amp only puts out signal for 1 minute, then stops working...

Hey,

I have issolated the problem to be the amp, the HU is always putting out signal, the sub works (tested with 9v battery) everything is fine except the amp...

When I start up the car it will work for about 1 minute, everything is perfect, then it will just stop putting out signal. It will stay on (green light) but it stops putting out signal.

Sometimes tho it doesnt work when I start the car, it seems like it happens when the car has been sitting somewhere for a long time, like overnight. It will also sometimes start to work randomly when driving... so basicly its random.

But why would my amp work for a minute and then stop? What could be causing it? I already tried making a new ground spot, same problem.

Un-mount the amp and see if it will work when you move the amp around by hand. I had a problem like that with a Rockford 1000.1 and it turned out that there was a blown resistor on the circuit panel inside the amp. So the signal kept cutting out when the resistor wouldn't connect.

wiggle the rca's a bit. mine did that and one of my rca's were broken.

I've tested new RCAs, same thing.

I'll try moving it around but I doubt that's it.

Any other ideas?

that or ther could be a bad cap. inside the amp. open it up (if not under warranty) and look for a leaking cap on the output side of the board
