amp mods

ive heard about people modding amps to put out more power. i was wondering what has to be done to "mod" an amp usually??

usually bypassing the protection or compression (sp?) circuit. all i know is the mtx 1501 mod.

It depends on the amp and what you are trying to achieve.

On the simple side is removing a protection/limit circuit......the other extreme is replacement/upgrade of key internal components.

It's one of those "case by case basis" things.

i appreciate responses just wondering what something to do... looking at possibilities when i buy my next amp that im going to use for spl. i know im going to want to mod it but i dont know what one i will get. any bad boy amps out there that people are modding to put out serious power without spending a shit ton???

If you want to boost your output then do what most SPL people do. Convert to a 16 volt system.
