Hi there,
The problem: my fiQ 18 is making weird mechanical noise when hooked to a ma audio overrated an sucky amp

supposed to give 800watt @ 2ohm but i've seen 400watt amp doing better anyway this is the amp. That amp is hooked on a 12v converter, which is a computer psu. Talk about gettho setup //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I never had problem with it in my room though.
The sub is making the mechanical noise if you put you ear next to it. seems to be coming from the dustcap. It is really disgusting and killing the sound of the q. I know the box got nothing to do with that coz it's making the noise free air too.
When i'm unplugging the sub and pushing the cone, everything is fine. no rattling noise of any kind. But the first time i tried pushing the cone the scratching was there:crap: after playing aroudn a little it was gone //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif
My dmm is ****ed up and giving different result every time i check the coil noise. but it's doing that with all my stuff (time for a new one, anyway)
So my first reaction was like **** the coils are gone for no reason. I tried hooking it up to my bxi2006d in my car free air and everything sound fine....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
My second reaction was "yeah time to get something better" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif. I'm broke tough //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif i did some more testing with another pionner cheapo sub at 2ohm and it sound perfect with the same ma audio amp... so now i'm ****ing confused....
with the Q, i'm running the amp at 1ohm, which is not supposed to work but it does anyway. I use to run that same amp in my car for like 3 weeks with the same sub and there was no noise or shutdown or anything that could let me think the amp is not able to do 1ohm.
But is it possible that, now... for no reason.... the amp ain't making the sub sound good. I mean, i can get loud (i expect aroudn 240watt from this setup with 22a rail psu) but sound like if the sub was broken???? is this well known? amp making the sub sound bad? it really sound like if the sub was scratching while moving, while with another amp it sound nice. BUT on the "defective" ma audio amp at 2ohm with another sub , it sound ok //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
I just bough a g31 battery and a new substage... i can't affort to pay for an amp if it isn't the problem
