Amp keeps shuting off Please Help

I have a ZX 450.2 and when I turn the head unit up to 3/4 full power the amp shuts off and comes right back on when I turn it down. I have no idea why it is doing this. The amp will shut off with no speakers hooked to it just power and rca's alos. I have changed RCA wires I have checked for voltage drops there are none. I can replace the amp with a old school rockford amp and nothing happens. I hooked up my buddy's KX 450.2 and it shuts off also. Is it something that kicker has built into the amp that makes it shut off. My head unit is the Kenwood 25 anniversery. I also have a KX 1200.1 that does not ever shut off and It is hooked to the same distro blocks as the ZX 450.2.

Any suggestions on the problem would be great

you sure there are no voltage drops? Thats the only reason I could think of it doing that.. unplug your sub and turn up the headunit and see if it happens

it may be too low of a load on the amps. change the load up. and yes it's going into "protect" mode to keep from frying itself.

edit, just read, check grounds, rem wire, and power connections. also, don't blast the volume.

I have hooked up the remote, power, and ground from my KX 1200.1 and it still does it. Also it will shut off with zero speakers hooked up.
