Amp keeps blowing fuses

Oh, and guess what? A mate of mine just came round and we hooked his amp and sub up using my wiring and it worked perfectly so like i said it must be a faulty unit. I did figure it out myself. I will be returnig the unit tomorrow. Thanks for nothing you berk. Was that your diagnosis? Or did you comeup with some farce of an explanation.

was driving the other day and my system just stopped, have checked all connections. I have checked the input on my terminals (12.45v) and it is the same as im getting off battery so live and earth is perfect no problems with RCA but my amp keeps blowing fuses. And yes i am disconnecting the live fuse before replace my fuse. Any help appreciated
Is it me or was that the first thing i said. Learn to read before you try and come up with some lame arse argument. Your the one who started being a dick in the first place. Getting all high and mighty 'Why do that on the simple install you have' which there was no need for. I routed my wires under my carpet because its neat they are tucked away and i wanted to do the job properly. Any problems with that?

now the question is why did the amp go?what amp do you have and how are the gains adjusted?
I dunno dude, I just guessed it was a faulty unit. I really cant see a problem with the wiring I knew it was where i would have my problems if I had any so, when i installed the wiring i took my time and made sure everything was right. I have no bare wires exposed, Soldered where i could and crimped everywhere else. And i ran my old setup off my head unit (sony) for two years. So i cant see that being the problem. I was just thinking internals werent up to scratch in the amp. Bit cheap and nasty really only £150 for sub and amp combo thats about what $225ish. I dont really need much more. Was happy with the sound quality of it. Im into hardcore metal so all i wanted it to do was complement my component speakers and not overpower them. Just wanted a bit more meat in my system. I really am stumped ill take it to the shop on monday and see what they say. If they replace it and the replacement breaks ill have to rip out everything and start again.

I posted a link to the amp which i had earlier on in the thread, Its a Fli loaded 250 and comes built in on the sub box. I set my gains just under half. I just played my system at 3/4 volume then turned it up until it started to distort then turned it down a touch and that was it. I read in the instructions that came with it thats how you were meant to do it.

every thing seems good on your end, mabie like you said, just a bad amp. the amp was mostlikey having the crap clipped out of it. if you have the chance to get a tad larger amp, that would be a good idea. not that you will use the extra power but just to have extra head room so the amp wont have to work so hard to get the sound you looking for.

just my .02 worth, good luck
