Amp is saying it has too high voltage HELP

some amps don't like to be unloaded while powered on.Does it still happen with subs hooked up? Things happen for a reason,so start with redoing what you undid

ya i tried it with the sub at low volume, it hit like crazy and then popped off. Fckin wierd. i guess ill try and fix the settings. all i was changing was low pass filters and frequency, just kinda trying to figure out this dam thing and it brought up E-3, which is error 3, looked at the manual and its getting too much voltage and tells me to "fix whatever is causing high voltage and restart." Lotta help that is.

did you set the gain like the manual says. its got very detailed instructions on how to set it. it mentions an "over" indicator and what not. takes a couple steps to set it right.

i cant seem to get that over light to come up, all it says on my manual is to "turn headunit volume up until "over" light flashes, then back volume down, turn volume back up to where over light indicates." I turned my headunit up all the way and it didnt come on. Im so fckin confused with this amp, why couldnt they just put knobs on the dam thing.

so then i started messing around with all the other options, trying to figure out how to set it, and the dam error message popped up. Im about to say fck it and pay someone else to do it, but i hate wasting money on that when i know i can do it, its just a matter of figuring out how.

youve had so many problems with this thing its making me want to go hook mine up just so i can figure it out and teach you lol hope you figure it out man. cant be that hard the guys at CC can do it!!! lol

no offense to anyone that works at CC but i know three guys that work in the install dept and 2 out of 3 are morons!!! lol the one guy really knows what hes doing though.

what is your batt voltage when it says overvoltage?maybe your alt is spiking,do you have an alt with an external voltage regulator?
