Amp is on but no power to subs

Well, I finally got my new Kenwood Excelon 591 HU hooked up to a Kicker kx 2500which powers an Audioque HD315. The power light on the amp comes on when the HU comes on like it's supposed to but no power is getting to the sub. I tested the sub with a drill battery and it seems to be fine. The amp was a refurb so I hope it's not messed up. This is in an Expedition that had the factory 8" sub and amp but I don't know if that makes any difference. RCA's appear to be fine but I don't know of any way to be sure. Speaker wire seems to be fine too as I've triple checked the connections on those. I ran a seperate wire from each positive wire(dvc 4 ohm) into the positive side of the terminal and did the same to the negative. It'll be a few days until I can get anyone else with a system to help me troubleshoot. Is there anything I can try in the meantime?

sub off on the head unit? blown pre-outs? blown channel?

The sub is on on the head unit. I plugged the RCA that powered the factory 8" sub up to one of the sub pre outs and it worked so I'm assuming the pre outs are okay. I don't know about a blown channel though...

I'm not thinking it would, but could an inadequate ground cause this? Also, all I did lately was install the remote wire and RCA's and now my battery's dead. My remote's connected so that it doesn't turn on unless the ignition's on so I don't know what's going on! Is there a fuse on the inside of the Kicker kx2500 amp? Every other amp I've had had them on the outside but I can't find one on this. Thanks for any help.

Can a bad amp drain the battery? Nothing else is drawing any power while the ignition's off but my battery's getting drained.

It just started happening the other day when I hooked the amp up. I can't get anything at all to the sub from the amp. It's a Kicker refurb kx2500 so I hope it's not screwed up but I'm afraid it is.

Hook the amp up in somebody else car that is not having problems. If the amp works in their car, then you know that something is wrong with your wiring and you'll have to figure it out from there.
