Amp is installed and I am not impressed

I installed a Crunch p900.4 last night to power my Infinity 6822 coaxials. Its definately not quality but i am processing the music with a 9887.

My problem is that I was suprised to find that thier is only a slight increase (maybe 5-10%) in performance with the installation. I set my gains as suggested on this forum and other tutorials.

With the setup you see above does that sound about right? Or should i have seen a 20-30% increase in performance?

I truned off the amp in the head unit.

How many rms does your stock HU put out 20-22 per channel.. This should def put out much more power then your stock HU.. You bought this off me and it made a huge difference over my sons 19 watt rms per channel.

ive got infinity 6x9 , went from hu to rockford amp and was a very noticable gifference. then to AQ amp and noticed even biger diff. i know crunch isnt a great amp but id think the difference should be more noticable even though that amp prob does half of rated power. id say the alpine hu power is almost equal to crunch. maybe u should try another amp

Here are the specs on the amp should be much more power then the HU.

I would set the gain by ear and not use the DMM method.

I havent had a lot of time to play with the setting so I am sure it is mostly setup. The amps works fine so its not the amp I was just wondering why i didnt see a 'substantial' bump in performance.

And how could my head unit push as much as the crunch...thats impossible.

Yea just turn the gain up and you will DEF see much more power to those speakers.

If you look at the specs there is no way the hu can provide the same amount of power...even if you cut the RMS rating by 1/2.

Ill play around with it and see what comes of it.

i have had all good installing experinces crunch

put at least 10 in last year

all 10 people are happy still

Yea my son had no problems for the 3 weeks he used it either worked really good. We just decided to go JL for both amps so they match.

Any suggestions on settings w/ bass boost, gain etc? I know i have to do it by ear but i am looking for any tips or suggestions.
