Amp install problems

Hey,

I installed an amplifier that was already with speakers that my uncle gave me. Thea mplifier is grounded and powered, but when i try to connect the remote connection it will just briefly flicker on then off (the green power light). The amp is a 760 watt sony xplod amp, the speaker box has 2 subs and 6 other smaller speakers (tweeters/mid/high i think). All connections seem good. What can be the issue here?? Thanks

maybe the ohm load is too low for the amp?

try disconnecting the speakers and see if it still does it.

Disconneting the speakers from the amp did not alleviate the problem. Any other suggestions? Thanks for your input regardless

Today while working on it, i tried to scrape some paint around my ground wire. While doing that, the ground wire sparked a little where I was scraping and then trying to power upt he amp with the remote in flickered again. Usually, it didn't flicker after the first "flicker".

Remove the ground and thoroughly clean the ground. take all of that paint off.

i hook up my amp and when i test it out it plays for a sec the they blow and smoke comes out and the powers still works but no sound this is my third time i did this help someone

Third time eh? You need to stop trying to hook up your own equipment and pay someone who knows what they're doing to do it for you.
