amp instal help!?

ok i have an older model Kenwood KAC-628 amp and i have it wired to my dual 1 ohm sub!

the amp is two channel, so i bridged it and ran the wires to one negative and one positive terminal on the sub!

the two remaining postive and negative terminals remaining on the sub i connected with speaker wire!

is this correct?!

the amp seems to be cutting off for a quick second here and there and feels like its getting pretty hot!!

wire the coils on the back to a final load of 2ohm and do not bridge the amplifier.

you ran each + and each - on the sub to a pos and neg on the amp correct? if so that gives the amp a one ohm load stereo which it is not able to handle.

no, connect one positive from one coil to the other coils negative and with the remaining positive and negative go to the amp. you where running a 1 ohm load which i doubt that amp is stable at. You need to wire it to 2 ohm like shown in the second picture here.

ya thats how i have it now!

and it was cutting off and getting hot!!

run it to only one channel?!

budah was helping me but he got offline and this is wat he suggested!

"The DualVoiceCoils... can be wired using different wiring configurations, series or parallel. In your case you would need to wire them in series to achieve a final 2ohm load. You wire 1 side from the (+) to the (-) on the same side and then run the other (+) and (-) on the other side straight into the amp.

I might be wrong, but i do not think you can bridge those amps at 1ohm. MOST amps only like to be bridged in a 4ohm load or they will go into protect from too low of impedance. SO if you have a four channel amp and are trying to run a single sub, wire those + and - as above mentions to just one of the channels on your amp."

i have a two channel amp!

a 2-ch amp can not bridge in to 2 ohm ; only 4 or hier

will have to run 1 ohm stereo

i hooked it up again right now

with one voice coil wired to itself!

then the other voice coil wired it to the amp into one channel!

didnt shut off. or get hot!
