Amp HOT! Music not even on! WTF? need opinions/inputs

lol

what made me laugh is that you did not even give me options to consider, you straight up said "without doubt you had it wired up wrong"

if you want me to, I would love to snap a pic of every wire connected and see if you can say "you got it wired wrong"

and yes I agree I think my HU is retarded

Lastly, what do you mean by I got shitty when you guys respond? I do not get shitty, I am open to any opinions, but I am telling you what I know for sure that is all, thank you.

Another update:

I decided to test my remote wire coming from the HU with a 12 volt test light

and it comes on as soon as I turn my key on..

my HU is off.. I even went up to behind the headunit and test the actual wire from the wiring harness that comes with the HU, it comes on as soon as the ignition is on..

So I guess it is my headunit? if so then am I given no choice but add a switch?

It seems like my HU is just retarded lol

Okay one other thing you can try is holding the off button and see if it totally shuts off. HOLD THE BUTTON IN it may shut off all the way. But you have it wired right. Your other option is again there should be a switch on the amp that asks what you want the amp to turn on to select signal from rca's see if that helps you. If you don't have that switch than your back to having to add a switch. LOL or getting a nice alpine head unit

Agree...my Alpine CDA-9887 requires you to press the power button and hold it for a second or two for it to shut off completely.

guys, I pulled the trigger and went out n bought me a switch since the guy over at avic411.com confirmed that the rem wire does not shut off the amps so I just had the switch installed just now..

I ll have the pics up soon..

and the guys over at avic411.com clarified everything up now and now it makes so much sense..

here is what a guy said there:

yes it is supposed to stay on until the avic shuts off completely. reason being, is that if you had a 4 channel amp hooked up, it will still use the amp for key beeps and navigation prompts. thats why the amp stays on. if you need it to turn off, id suggest installing a switch on the rem. turn on for the mono block.

Well, hey, we all learned somethin' now didn't we? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Glad you figured it out and have a solution.

Post dem pics!

Good luck!

yeah no shit i learned something ha..

it is pretty gay for Pioneer to have this HU's remote wire turned on all the time though

I guess now everyone knows that those HUs got constant remote wire

thanks for your help man,

I ll get a pic up soon

here is the pic of the switch.. it is on the right side of my bezel

the led illuminates blue color light, I plan on looking around at some more autozones see if there is any similar switch as this one but gives out green light instead so that way it would match all of my dash lights
