Amp going into fault mode...

So maybe someone here can help me out...

I have an amp that has 6 channels. Channels 5/6 are bridged and hooked up to a tower speaker on a boat.

Everything was working fine for a while, but now when i turn up the vol the amp goes into Fault mode.

Flash Pause Flash Flash - the manual says this is a short. When i un hook the speaker from channel 5/6 it plays fine and does not go into fault mode.

It's literally 2 wires (red / black) that goes from the amp to the speaker. The speaker is a pod though, and has 2 drivers and 1 horn wired together at 4 ohms and it comes to 1 connection....

Where can i start looking for problems?

well i took the speakers out of the pod and tested each of them, one of them makes a metal rattling noise while playing. So im guessing it is blow.

yep, speaker is bad. bummer.
