just picked up a pair of the original l7 10s (2000 models) and a RF power 800a2 today for free. Which is pretty cool as it was A-free and B-my sub I just bought got lost in the mail and I am SOL on it.
Anywho, got everything installed and went to adjust the gain and it looks like the little knobs were broken, that or they are just real small and a pain to get to.
I was able to get a tiny phillips screwdriver in there to turn them but the volts remained constant on my voltmeter. All the way down and all the way up and no difference.
Anyone have any idea why it was doing this? Is it some sort of indication of the amp being messed up?
One thing I didn't try and will have to wait for til tommorow is with the subs hooked up try adjusting the gain and checking if it has any affect on my subs when i am turning the knobs. Maybe my voltmeter is crapped out, I did drop it just a short time before i used it from about 3 feet.
With the 50hz test tone and with playing music the subs were barely moving so it seems like something is definitely off.
Maybe I am an idiot and just hooked something up wrong. I'm pretty sure the subs are wired correct. Red with teh dot and Black with no dot is one coil and vice versa. Then connected these straight to each channel on the amp. But even if I did wire the subs wrong that wouldn't matter for hte output on the Volts.
Thankfully I have another amp, my 2500D, but I think it would be too powerful for these subs to put 1700 watts to them.
