amp for type r

They are 'decent' for the money, but you could do better. As always, Hifonics is a bit over rated, but they are fairly stable units. What is the most you are looking to spend?

It should handle it, but that amp would not be out 1000w of clean power. If you set the gain correctly to put out around ~750w or so it would be fine.

But with $1000, I wouldnt go Hifonics... Or even Alpine for that matter.

that amp would be fine to a single r, its just not the best quality

I would suggest the DVC 2 ohm and wire it to a 1 ohm load. It's a lot easier and practical to find an amp that will power the Type R well in a 1 ohm load. I have the DVC 4 ohm and I've found a few amps that are possibilities but there are options like the Orion 1200, Viper 1200, etc. that are great for the R's.

i got the Mb Quart Raa1000 off of ikesound.com It's 1000watts @ 1ohm rms. It plays them sooo nicely.
