Amp for rainbow SLC 265's

What are your suggestions for an amp to push these.

I currently have a Kicker zx200.2, but it only puts out 70wattsx2@4ohms. Actually probably a little more since they are underrated.

I've read that I should give these 100 to 125 watts per side. I'd like to stay under $200, but if I'm going to sacrifice SQ, I'll spend more.

You might be able to find a PG Xenon 200.2 for under $200.

Used JL 300/2s go for a little over $200 I think. I have a JL 300/4 on my Rainbows and they sound awesome.

Get this US Amps xt-800.2 amp. You can set the gains low and give the speakers about 100w each side. I used to have that setting, and they sounded great. Then later, you'll have headroom if you want to upgrade, or go with a 3-way setup.

Snag this, because this guy's amps have been selling good. FWIW, this guy bought the amps off his friend who was going to be a distrubutor, but wound up not doing so. I also talked with some people he sold to who said the amps they got were in the box with plastic sealant around them still. Anyway, don't pass this up. You'll be VERY hardpressed to find a deal remotely this good. Seriously.

i'm using the US Amps XT1600.4 (100x4@4ohms) to power the SLC265s up front and some 6.5" subs on the back and i'm perfectly happy with it. That looks like a killer price for the XT800.2 posted above. If i didn't have anything to power in the rear, i'd probably get it myself.

There are lots of 4 channel options that will do the power you want when bridged, and then that would leave the door open for going active if you chose to later on.

Can't believe I didn't think to suggest that. I just got so caught up in that amp being such a steal, lol.

Yes, I agree. Get a 4-channel so you won't be kicking yourself later.
