Hey guys let me first start off with my current setup..

Vehical- 2001 GMC Sierra Regular cab truck

Head Unit- Pioneer DEH 6300UB

Front speakers- Rockford Fosgate 6.5" P1653

Rear speakers- Rockford Fosgate 6"x9" P1692 (75 watt RMS)

Sub Amplifier- JL Audio JX500/1 Monoblock amp (500 watt)

Subwoofers- X2 Alpine SWE 12" SVC 4ohm (250 watts RMS)

So my plan is to get a Rockford Fosgate R150 2 channel amp (75 watts x2 @ 2ohm RMS) to run my rear 6x9 speakers for my mids. What do you guys think about this choice of amp? Im keeping my spending limit for this amp at $200. I also should mention that i am going to be getting rid of my two subwoofers and getting two 12" Alpine SWS which are rated at 300 watts RMS. I also am getting rid of the JX500/1 amp and getting a Rockford fosgate T600 2 channel amp which is rated at 300 watts x 2 @ 2ohms which is perfect for the Alpine SWS. So do you guys think i should see how everything sounds after i switch my subs up? or just go for it and get it regardless? All opinions are welcomed, Thanks guys.

Are your speakers 2ohm?
If they're 4ohms that amp wont be powerful enough.
My speakers are 4ohms but cant i wire them down to 2ohms? (might be a dumb question and is probably a no, but im kinda new to this) or can that not be done with door speakers? That amp is rated at 75 watts x2 @ 2ohms RMS.

put the amp on the 6.5 not the 6x9,it will sound better

Why do you say this? I dont see why it would matter, i mean both speakers are pretty much the same just different sizes.. but why do u think my door speakers would sound better as mids? I figure my front speakers would be my highs, rear speakers would be my mids, and my subs would be my lows, all going from front to back.

For 200$, you can easily get a 4 channel that will do 65-75x4 @ 4 ohms, you can't (more like shouldn't) wire your speakers into the same channel, because you would get ONLY the sound from the left or right channel (depending on which one it is wired to) which is usually not the whole song, dubstep is one of the genres that changes sides alot.

If you don't understand what I am talking about, listen to the beginning of this song with two headphones in, then with only one headphone in, and you will see what I'm talking about. Flaw - Medicate - YouTube

yea i know what your talking about with some music that plays on seperate speakers at certain points, but i didnt plan on pugging two speakers into the same channel.. i was going to plug 2 speakers into a 2 channel amp on seperate channels.

that t600 is gonna make around 800watts bridged at 4 ohm and 400 at 2ohm stereo imho to much for the alpines and going from e's to s's isnt going to make much difference at all

amp your 6.5s use the 80hz cross over, bass is supposed to sound like its in front of u not behind u and besides this system is for the drivers pleasure not the people in the back seat.

if you want to amp the 6x9s grab the r300x4 or the pbr300x4 they arent much more and will give you more power and more flexibility. as said above keep speakers on separate channels except subs they are the only exception.

personally if i were going that cheap on a high amp i wouldnt be buying a pricey sub amp. i would try and split the money more evenly and put any extra to better subs or a better install

As said above if you were to only amp 2 speakers, the fronts would be the best, from the driver's seat the rears are just fill, 6.5's will have almost as much midbass as 6x9's, but, having a set amped and a set on head unit power isn't a good idea, because in trying to get louder you risk clipping whichever speakers are on the headunit, which will blow them eventually, having all 4 amped, even on lower than rated power will be way better than having 2 amped, both the 6x9's and the 6.5's will have good midbass, and good highs, that's just how it is.

If you want the 6x9's to only play midbass, and the 6.5's to only play highs, or vice versa, you'll have to run the power through a crossover, that will eliminate whichever frequencys you don't want to get to them, bet there is no real reason to do that. It will sound good with all of them playing.

It will also be better if you have a low output alternator to get a class D mono amp instead of the t600-2, since it is a class A/B it will take more power from your electrical system to make the same output.

Also spending that much money on any amp for those speakers is just crazy, it would be much better to get speakers that are twice the price, and an amp that's half the price. Type R's are much better than the E's, and you can find like 40 different amps that will put out more power than the Rockford for less money.
