Nothing wrong with MTX amps or subs, I have two Thunder series amps on the way for very little $$$$. Not everyone may like them, but that's not saying anything bad about them. I went to the JL web site and sent an e-mail to there tech support about the MTX 421D and what it could run since I had all kinds of miss info from different stores and shops. They (JL) recommended one 12-w3v2-2 not a 12w6v2 unless I upgraded to say the 801D. By upgrading to the 801D I could run two 12w3v2-2 and it would be no problem or just one 12w6v2. JL 1000/1 is a bit expensive for what you get and not really nesssary considering all the options you have.
