Amp for an SWX-1242D?

Okay the cheapest legit pdx1.1000 is about 425+20 shipping (445$), and the majority of the ones from power sellers are 450-470, +20$ shipping. If I can honestly find a new one for 400$ flat I'd get it, due to the performance and awesome looks. The reasons I don't like kicker are as follows:

1) I hate the look of they're products. I think performance is more important than visual...but not if I absolutly can't stand the looks.

2) Kicker to me is like a Ford Mustang-sure, it's very good for it's price-but its popularity just makes me hate it.

Just put a Power Acoustik A3000, if you can still get them, this way you know you have enough power and there is nothing wrong with having more power than needed. But I also have to ask the question why not a Kicker amp, you may have already said but they build awesome amps and it would be a perfect match. Could also do a Hifonics BXI2006. You have a few options in that price range.

Yes, there are a lot of options, and that seems to be my problem. I'm trying to find something that is cheap enough, powerfull enough, and with decent looks(imo). Very hard to do with as picky as I am. Now I'm leaning towards something like an Alpine MRD-1000 or the ED NINE.1, simply because of they're price and decent performance. I'm gonna check to see if I can take in a PDX in my budget, but I doubt it. If someone can give me information on RD or old RE amps, that would be awesome. I'm gonna have to get an amp before too long, cuz I really want to sell the RF setup I have now. Your consideration of using the PDX 1000.1 peaked my interest to reply. Sorry if it seems like I'm jacking your post but I thought I'd bring this up. . .

The PDX's get very hot. . . .and that's scary considering they're stackable!!??? I'm questioning this because I've only read reviews but really want to use them too!! I'm assuming I speak for every single person when I say I don't want a short-lived amp.

Anyone use these? Have you read or heard anything negative about them??

HIIDPG-no problem about asking the Q on the pdxs-that can help me out too. About the MTX's...it's an option, they're kind of harder to fiberglass in though, but I'll think about it. I've seen a couple people wiring X's to em though, and it sounded pretty good.

could get an opti2000d . they bench at about 1100 @ 2 ohms and can be dropped all the way down to .5 ohm for daily if you ever need to.

Lanzar's a little...ehh. The opti drives are supposed to be plenty powerful, but they just don't do it for me.

1) Most important-does anyone know where to find treo amps? I don't have an authorized dealer, and was curious where to find them (ebay doesn't even have them).

2) Does anyone know when the Diamond D61200.1 ships?

done a few pdx installs with them stacked and have yet to have one come back for heat or protection issues

I would go with the GTO . I use a 601.1 for my current setup and its been used on a Type R and it sounded great! Its one of my favorite sub amps that I've used

you can't go wrong with either one of those, but I also love the MTX 81000D...a few years old, but a very solid amp. You can find a few used ones on ebay and even 1 brand new one!

the gto and nine.1 are both great amps. They both will probably do close to the same power at your desired impedance. I've never really dealt with alpine amps at all.

I will say i liked that lanzar significantly more than the saz1500d that i played with but if you don't like the name thats fine with me. Just saying, i'm not some noob thats only used lanzar.

Everyone that i've known that's owned lanzar can only name positives about them, so they really arn't that bad anymore(optidrives at least). I'd really like to go with the ED nine...I finally found a treo dealer in STL, and they're lovely SSX1400.1 is 1000 lovely dollars. Doh! I think I'm gonna get my mids first, then wait about a month until a can easily decide on an amp...Even though this thread has had 27 posts, I'm still undecided :X thanks to everyone who helped, if you have two cents left to say then go for it, all is appreciated.
