Amp for an SWX-1242D?

So I've already got some imput on this, but I'm trying to get as much as possible from experts. I bought an Alpine SWX-1242D from my cousin because it was only $150...just couldn't turn it down. It'll be run to 2 ohms, as I just don't trust the whole wiring to 1 voice coil thing, no matter who supports it. Anyway, my RF p325.1 is a liiiiiiittle too weak for it (giggles), so what amp? I hate to be the 16 year old that's skimping on an amp, but I'm wanting to keep it under $350, as I have to have money to get Focal Polyglass v2r's and a jvc kd-avx2(love the old model, still $350 though), fiberglass materials, along with some performance stuff. Okay enough rambling, sorry.

Possible amps-

Alpine MRP-M850- 800w RMS at 2 ohms at 14.4 volts

Soundstream PCA1000D-800 RMS

JL e1800-800 RMS(little pricey)

Elemental Designs NINE1-900 RMS...kind of impossible to find

Lanzar OPTI14000-800 RMS-they're generous on their ratings

JBL GTO1201-1114 RMS at 14.4 volts-little pricey

Any advice would be greatly appreciated...I'm just trying to get a decent amp that both performs and looks good without making me unable to do my other mods. Thanks!

You could also look at a Kicker ZX1000.1, solid amp that will drive that sub nicely. Regarding the power...My amp is putting more power that my sub is rated for. Aslong as you are concervative with your gains you should be fine.

oops forgot to put this in there-I can't stand kicker or audiobahn. Thanks for the opinion though, I have heard good things for kicker, so it's not too bad of an idea to go with them, however I doubt I will. Thanks, open to any opinions.

Why don't you like Kicker? I can see Audiobling, but Kicker makes solid amplifiers.

i still think they're products look a little funny...I like straight square amps, no decals...which is pretty much why i'm not wild about the soundstream. Idk, I just don't like too much decoration.

now those arn't too bad, design's not great, but still nice and plain. kicker to me is like a mustang-yah sure, it's good for the money, but it seems to me something is just missing/off a little bit. btw to go with my theme, i'm trying to keep the color of the amp i get black, silver will work but I prefer black. ANyway tony, I've heard some people suggest the t10001bd a couple times, and i run RF p1's right now and i think for the money it's great stuff...so a t10001 isn't that bad of an idea, thanks.

why don't u focus more on 2ohm stable amps rather than 1ohm ones? That being said the PG RSD 1200.1 seems pretty decent for the money. Or mayb look into the MTX Thunder elite amps.

Too bad u don't like Kicker, they're really good amps

Yes, pdx 1.1000 is an obvious choice, but I'm under a budget...I still have about 1k+ to spend on other audio, 1k on performance, and 1k on rims, so I don't want to pay 500$ for an amp. Yes, I'm cheap as hell. Anyways, I'll check out pg, and I've looked into MTX a little, not much on the prices though. Thanks for the suggestions. BTW anyone know anything about the old RE audio amps? All I've heard of is the 12.1, which only has 700rms at 2 ohms, but I love the looks of them and was wondering spec/prices/availability. Thanks everyone.

Just put a Power Acoustik A3000, if you can still get them, this way you know you have enough power and there is nothing wrong with having more power than needed. But I also have to ask the question why not a Kicker amp, you may have already said but they build awesome amps and it would be a perfect match. Could also do a Hifonics BXI2006. You have a few options in that price range.

dayum yea that sucks u dont like kicker. I wouldn't buy anything but kicker ,amp wise. I've never really heard a bettter sounding amp... Solid build and reliability cant be beat either IMO
