Amp for a DAD KMH 12 d4

I've been doing my R&D  for the DAD kmh-12 sub but first hand XP is needed in any situation. It's in a ported box so I know the sub won't take as much pwr in this instance but if it is built stronger than what it's rated for would the actual 800rms be worth while for it.  I listen to rock/grunge/metal. Any insights would be great Thanks.
