Amp for 8ohm kicker

Well i need to get an amp for my cuz. He went and got a kicker comp 12" 8ohm sub. before i had the chance to talk to him about what to get cuz he knows not a thing about car audio. I need an amp that is good and cheap that will work for this sub prob around $150 or less is what he prob will spend on it. If any one has a suggestion let me know. Thanks Also its prob going to be bought of ebay only.

He should go ahead and get another 8 ohm sub so he can wire it down to 4 ohms. It will be hard to get an amp that will push very much power at 8 ohms for $150.

so i take it this sub is a single 8 ohm voice coil and not dual 8 ohms? what is the rms rating on the sub?

I agree...that's a SVC 8 ohm and hard to find an amp to do an 8 ohm load...can he buy another sub? If so, get another 12" 8 ohm, and wire for a 4 ohm load.

Well like i said he got the sub before he talked to me about what to get. And hes not going to get another sub i know that for sure. Im just trying to find any kinda amp that will work for around that much it does not have push much power.

if it's still brand new in the box, can he exchange it for a 4 ohm?

he got it of ebay from someone new but not from an ebay store
