Amp Enclosure.

Hi all, I am new to all this so take it easy on me!

I bought a a couple of amps for my system and the install dept wanted to just screw them on to the back of my seats. How lame eh?

I have a Nissan Exterra with wit the amps laying behind the seats now.

Here is what I am thinking. Making a rectangle box with the top at a slight incline so the amps face up and a little forward. Maybe even just leave the back side that goes up aginst the seats open with supports ever XX inches so there is plent of air and mount the amps so the tops are flush with the top of the encloseure. Then carpet them to match the rig.

Is this a fairly standard thing? Is that enough air to them? Any chance of fire or..?

Any ideas appreciated!

Thanks,

Robert

And leave the heat sinks (top of the amps ) exposed ? Sounds like a good plan to me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

you can always buy some 80mm fans (computer case fans) and put them on the sides of the amprack feeding air to the amps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif imamp3pimp has a worklog on here with that done looks nice too.
