amp draw help: stock alternator & ab vs. d

Ok I've been reading for days now--and I know this is a sensitive subject--but in all my reading I couldn't find a single definitive answer for AMP draw in AB amps vs. D amps. Im not asking quality in or about old-school AB vs. D vs. new-schoool Ds vs. Who thinks who is better when at what Blah blah. Just power usage in regards to comparable quality. E.g., I understand all amps are different, but generally what would 4x100 watts rms amp draw on class AB vs. a relatively comparable D running 4x100 watt rms or something similar.

History: One of my vehicles can basically use any HO alternator size I need, but my main car only has an 80 amp alternator with the only upgrade hitting 130 amps if I can even find/fit it. Because of the 80 amp alternator I am now considering going with Ds for my amps. Im wondering if this is necessary, should I completely rule out AB since I cannot go higher on my alternator?

Im not into spl or competition level quality. Just good music.

Im was looking to run ~50-100 rms for tweets, midrange, and rears; so 300-600 rms or so plus ~300-500 for sub.

My car is an 83 so although I have power windows, sunroof, etc, not much else seems to run while the car is on. Will the 80 amp get me there? Or how far will it get me?

I'm running 0g knu to trunk with an agm battery and several grounds btw to try and get most out of the alternator.

Consider that 80amp alternator will only do 45-50 amp idle.

600-900 watts would be fine if you watch the knob as even an agm battery will not be able to keep up with a bass happy person with a 80amp alternator.

AB amps will draw more current to produce equal power as a d class due to efficiency. Example, an ab amp will draw 100 amps and produce 800 watts while a d will draw 90 amps and produce the same power. This is obviously not true in all cases but in a vacuum, cookie cutter scenario it wil.

I have added another group 78 AGM in the rear next to my amps with the same under the hood with the BIG3 with 2ga throughout on my 99 Honda CRV with stock alt with the ELD bypass(Majority of Hondas only),and running approx 1400-1500 rms on sub duty and approx 300 up front on mids and highs without any issues..I believe my stock alt is an 80 amp..I have elect windows, a/c running ect and has been great for the last two and a half years..Running an old school A/B Crossfire TEK 100.2@ 2 ohms and a Matts D300HC@2 ohms with an XS Scorpian 8in Scroll fan..Rears off of HU power with bass caps..Worst case, Id say another AGM batt in the rear if needing a bit more power,or concerned about not having enough for your set up.Should be plenty without any worries, running A/B amps or class D within that power range that you have stated
