Ok here is my setup i have boston 6.53s in my doors

4x6 boston fx7s for rear fill

1-jla 12W3v2-D2 in a stealh box

this is in a gmc sierra extended cab

i currently have a JLA 300x 4 running the doors

front speakers are 3 ohms running 75watts per side

rears are 4 ohms at around 50 watts per side

the sub i have a bridged ppi2120 bridged at 4 ohms 120 wat output

my local shop said i should sell both amps and get a JLA 500/5

Which would output 100 per side to the front doors

50 watts per side to the rear doors

200 watts to my sub

is there a better option or would this amp be good on my setup

remember i dont have alot of room for amps in this truck

right now i have the JLA 300/4 and the ppi on a custom amp rack located under the back seat passenger side ill post a pick later

I'd keep that amp myself and save a little money. In a truck (or anything for that matter) I wouldn't run rear speakers. I'd run CH 1 & 2 to the front speakers and bridge CH 3 & 4 to the sub which will put more power to the sub than the other amp would anyway. And if you still wanted rear speakers run them off the head unit. My .02 worth. Later.

i would do exactly the same thing

so you would get rid of the rears and the ppi amp and just run the fronts and the sub ?

Honestly i was hoping to get alittle louder with the fronts and more punch outta the sub?

Maybe after i remount my 6.5" woofer to the door frame and deaden and seal the the door i would notice a big diffrence?

And why dosent anyone like running rear speaker ?

would it be better if i put a set of comps back there?

Just seems like in my back seat without em its all bass

I guess im just not all that happy with the sound im getting .Seems i have decent equipment im not sure where to upgrade .

People dont run rear spkrs cause with an accurate set of front components the sound stage should be plenty full and wide. If you have room for two amps a good two channel to run your fronts and a small mono to run your sub would be ideal. If you really only have room for one amp by a 4 channel with tri capabilty and bridge your rear to the sub. Also deadener helps a lot.
