I am powering two Alpine Type R 12's. Back in the day I would go pickup a Phoenix Gold and call it a day. All these news brands and visible testing. What amp manufacturer should I be looking at for 1000-2000 @ ohm rms. Between $350-$500

Orion makes a highly rated powerful amp for $399. It's the XTR2500.1dz. It will give you around 2,900 rms @1 ohm. Everybody seems to like the Taramps Brazilian made amps lately. You could get an MD1800.1 for probably less than $200. 1,800 watts @1 ohm.
