That cooking smell is the coils burning up..You may need to check your wiring configuration to make sure you are at the proper ohms load of the stability of the amplifier, before you completely cook one or both subs along with the amp.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eyebrow.gif.fe2c18d8720fe8c7eaed347b21ea05a5.gifOh alright I'll look into that.
And on a side note, I think of my subwoofers is shitting the bed :/ I noticed the other day when its in my ported enclosure with my other sub, its hitting a lot harder for some reason and I hear a lot more air coming from it compared to the other one..if that makes any sense? I also smelt the horrid coil-burning smell on a high volume song today
I wa on Ebay, and just found an SX2150 for like $150 bucks Autotek Street Machine, last of the USA Line.I recommend you not buy the new line up,grossly over rated. The amp Im talking about will bang 4-1000 rms subs alll day long, and its also a beautiful looking amp as well,I believe there was a 22ooSX on there also for $200.Check on Ebay..You may not be able to find an Old school Mean,Rarely up for sale. But that amp will be one of the best amps you will ever own/people will envy.Looks like my amp can't handle a 2ohm load then..time to unload it and buy a Autotek Mean Machine!!
audiobahn: I went on sonicelectronix to find a SX1500, but all they had was the ATX line and the smallest they have is the ATX2000, but for only $125.
Don't you think thatd be overkill for these subs which have an RMS of 275 each and a peak of 1000 each?
