Amp Blew/Kicker L7 Amp suggestions?

Noob post yay!

Don't get discouraged just yet, I need some advice first.

I believe my Cadence TXA-750D shat out on me and I'm wondering A) What's a good way to test it to make sure its not just a wiring problem and B) What would a good amplifier be to match a Kicker 10" L7 600RMS @ 1 ohm?

There aren't any lights that turn on to indicate the amp is on, or I don't remember there being any at least. I'm thinking about using a multimeter if I can find one but otherwise how would I tell if something is wrong?

yep use a DMM to check voltage to amp as well as impedence at the speaker leads

i had a mtx6500d amp on my l7 12" pushed it nice. Had to turn gains down amp was benched at about 750rms @2 ohms. You can generally pick them up for a 100 to 125

check to make sure the protection light isnt on, if so try taking the amp down to it's basic state (go online to see how to do it), then hook it back up, also check all fuses, if no look try taking it to a shop to get it fixed.

as far as a new amp look into a Rockford T500-1bd, dont be fooled by the specs, highly under rated.

That amp is crazy expensive for only putting out 500 watts at 1 ohm. And I don't think there's any protection lights my amp. I'm about to crack it open because it doesn't have any external fuses but I can't find the right allan wrench yet.

Someone either drastically correct me or coincide that this amplifier: http://www.caraudiodeals.com/hifonics-txi7508-p-1890.html and this subwoofer: http://www.amazon.com/Kicker-08S10L72-Solo-Baric-10-Inch-Subwoofer/dp/B0013FMWFM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1256150342&sr=1-2 will work together juuuust fine when put into a sealed box and wired for a 1 ohm load.
