I have lanzar opti7001d rated at .5 I know it's lanzar and there not stout as other amps and I totally understand that. I currently have it wired to 1ohm and I haven't tested rise yet but I can tell I'm not getting the full 5k at 1ohm plus voltage is starts at 15.0 and drops to 13.8v. My electrical Consit of a mechman 270 externally reg, 2 d3400's, 1 d3100 so I was thinking of adding another d3100 and wiring it to .25 would this be a bad idea if careful with? Don't let the amp get hot watch voltage etc?

I would suggest against it. Although I do not have personal experience with the amp. .25 daily is really rough on amps, even if rated at .5.

I have a rubicon 2500 wired to .35 never skips a beat on 300 Ah of reserve. If your competing id say it's good for short periods but amps heat up really quick and protect with low impedance

You can do it. But you are taking a risk. Just like there is box rise which causes the impedance on the amp to rise. It can also go down. it depends on the frequency being played.

If it ends up blowing the amp

PM me and I'll buy it from you broken.

No he can't just do it. Many amps will NOT play music at .25. I've seen sundown and crescendo do it, my AQ's won't and many others won't either.

And OP if you think voltage drop is bad at 1ohm, wait until you try it at .25

so what was the result?
Amp plays at .25 voltage dropped to 13.0 and I added another d3100 it slams for about 30 seconds then protects turn down the bass knob kicks back on for 30 seconds just does it over and over 3 time it happend amp was alittle warm but still fine to touch not hot. I'm just gonna use it at 1 ohm on music totally fine to use .25 for burps or comp playing music for 30 seconds

Sweet. What is the set up, what kind of numbers did you do?
It's a 2010 Tahoe with 2 dc level 5 18's at .25 was doing a 152.9on music at 37hz no testing and I play on adding another amp I plan to be in the high 53 low 54 sealed 55 drive door open.
