Amp and/or speakers question.

Well, this is my first post and I hope the question is in the right section, if not I apologize. I have a couple questions regarding my amp. It's a kicker kx350.4

I get a high pitch whine when the RCA's are plugged into the rear inputs and it dosen't happen with the front. I know about alternator whine and a few other causes for this problem but the whine is also there when the car is not running. The strangest part though is the whine will be there with the car not running and the key in the forward position but if you put the key all the way back to accessories, the whine will go away and everything is fine. This problem has been with me since I've owned the amp.

The second question relates to my front speakers. They are kicker 5x7's. If I turn my volume way up they will sound nice for about 10-15 seconds and then turn very muddy. Sound still comes out but it's like all my high's are gone. This problem started a few weeks ago.

Try a better ground location and make sure it's scraped down to bare metal.

Key forward, but not ON will power up fuel pump, etc... so that's probably what's causing the whine.

Fix that first and see if the speaker problem goes way...
