Clean, powerful, A/B goodness. Very flexible features including front end defeat switch which keeps the input signal in pristine condition rather than being processed by the on-board filters. Overbuilt, nice big power supply and lots of output devices. Clip indicators for both channels. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif Fused at 3 x 30 amps. Mint, has all the plugs but no manual.

Pioneer GM-X922 Class A --- $115 shipped Sold!

I'm unclear as to whether or not this is truly a class A amplifier as most that are marketed as such are not... at least not for very long. It could just be a class A/B running with a very high bias. I've had a hard time finding solid information stating if it in fact operates in class A for the first few watts and then begins operating as an A/B, or just B, once more power is required. If anyone knows anything for sure, feel free to comment. If you don't, well, we can probably just save any further speculation to avoid confusion. What I do know is that she runs warm and sounds very sweet. Fan cooled, defeatable variable low pass filter, and 12dB boost @ 40hz. Fused at 2 x 30 amps. This one makes the power. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif 9/10 condition.

(Under)Rated RMS -

Pioneer GM-X722 --- $75 shipped Sold!

More clean, powerful, A/B goodness. Another flexible amplifier delivering wonderful sound. You guys looking for amplifiers for your frontstage should be taking a serious look at these Pioneers for the value they offer. They don't kill your electrical yet they deliver high current performance with awesome dynamics. It's not about RMS power! It's about your amplifier being able to cope with huge dynamic swings contained in quality recordings and being able to deliver the power for sharp transients and demanding bass lines. This one delivers. Fan cooled, defeatable variable low/high pass filter, and 12dB boost @ 40hz. Fused at 2 x 20. 9.5/10 condition.

(Under)Rated RMS -

80 x 2 @ 4ohm (1ohm stable)

240 x 1 @ 4ohm (2ohm stable)

Sony XM-1002HX --- $80 shipped

Yet more clean, powerful, A/B goodness. Yeah... Sony. You didn't know but know you do. Anyone trying to talk smack about Sony in my F/S thread will be humiliated with the hard data backing up the performance of this amplifier. It's time to put away your brand prejudice. Forget about what your friends told you and hear for yourself what a good Sony sounds like. This amplifier makes more than rated power and can be configured at the flip of a switch to run in high voltage or high current mode, whichever best suits your final impedance. It has lots of built-in protection and a display telling you what went wrong, if anything, including thermal protect, DC offset, or over current. More importantly, it sounds terrific and will give you a nice deep soundstage with incredible dynamics if you've done everything else right up front. Indeed, it is best suited for components as it's not a monster built for sub duty, though if you played your cards right you could do that too. Defeatable variable low/high pass filter and 10dB boost @ 40hz. Fused at 30 amps. 9.5/10 condition.

TC 1000/Eclipse 8808.6 --- $150 shipped Sold!

I've been keeping this around as part of a small collection but maybe someone can put it to use. We all like a powerful little 8". //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif This one has a problem though. QC allowed a driver with a faulty glue joint to get out the door and I ended up with it. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif It happens. As you can see from the last photo, some excess glue at the coil/spider joint has skewed the spider a bit and at the extremes of excursion there is a ticking sound made by the coil rocking due to the non-linear behavior of the spider. This only happens at near 2 inches of stroke and if you know the limitations and use the driver within them, it is not a problem. In other words, this is probably better purchased by someone who is interested in SQ rather than SPL. Duh, it's an 8"! It's a great candidate for a computer sub or something similar, which is how I intended to use it. I've been meaning to get a video of the noise it makes but haven't yet. I'll get on that. This driver has a high Qts and wants to see a small sealed enclosure of .5 to .75cu.ft. and will do well with 250 to 500 watts. Fs is 27hz. 6ohm driver!!! Never mounted.
