Hey guys i have a kicker solo x 12''. Its peak power is 6500 watts and i was wondering if it was getting enough power. The amp i bought for it says

# RMS Power Rating:

* 1 ohm: 3200 watts x 1 chan.

* 2 ohms: 2500 watts x 1 chan.

* 4 ohms: 1700 watts x 1 chan.

# Max power output: 5500 watts x 1 chan.

The subwoofer is 4 ohms so does that mean its only getting 1700 watts rms?

I am not familiar with that amp, but skeptical that it actually produces that amount of power. With that said, your Kicker should be DVC, meaning that you can wire in parallel and be 2ohms at the amp. This would mean that your amp would be putting 2500w rms to it. Now, what is the rms rating of the sub? I always try to match the rms rating of the amp to the rms rating of the sub. Peak ratings vary so much and going by rms should be a better gauge.
