amp adjustment

I am new to the forum and need some advice on adjusting my amp. I just put 6 new MB Quart 116 speakers on my boat. I thought they sounded great until turned up the volume. At a higher volume levell, the amp cut out. I turned the volume down and the sound came back. I thought at first I had a battery problem, but now realize my amp is not adjusted properly. I have a Clarion 475 head unit, Clarion apx480 amp, a bazooka 100w sub. The specs on the MB Quarts says 4500hz. crossover. Their freq. response is 40-32000 hz. They also have diodes on the hookup. I am thinking my problem is in the lpf and hpf. Can someone give me an idea on how to set the amp and stop the clipping?

more than likely your wiring is wrong and you are showing the amp too low of an ohm load. how exactly do you have 7 speakers wired up to a 4 channel amp?

I had 6 clarion speakers hooked up before, and everything worked fine. I could play the music at any level and there was never any clipping. The MB Quart sound better than the Clarion at the levels I have been able to use them. Maybe the sub should connect directly to the head unit, rather than the amp? I need to know where to set the filters.
