Amp acting weird

My JBL BP1200.1 has been acting weird lately. Sometimes when I turn up my music the amp will be pushing the subs fine but then after awhile it will "power down" as I like to call it, meaning that its still pushing the subs but by a lot less and the green light stays lit. Then after awhile it will go back to full power and the bass will get much louder. Any1 know why this might be? I don't have the big3 done to this amp but it never gave me problems b4. It's PWR and GND is 4AWG which should be enough, any ideas?
