Amp Acting Weird...help!

I posted this in the general section but no one looked at it so maybe sum1 in here will. My JBL BP1200.1 has been acting weird lately. Sometimes when I turn up my music the amp will be pushing the subs fine but then after awhile it will "power down" as I like to call it, meaning that its still pushing the subs but by a lot less and the green light stays lit. Then after awhile it will go back to full power and the bass will get much louder. Any1 know why this might be? I don't have the big3 done to this amp but it never gave me problems b4. It's PWR and GND is 4AWG which should be enough, any ideas?

Does it do this on a consistent basis? If so, put a multimeter on the power/ground terminals on your amp, and see if the voltage is dropping as well. Do you have problems with light dimmage or any other electrical problems when this happens?

Yes this has been happening just about everytime I go somewhere in my car. Sometimes it won't do it but most of the time it does. And no I dont get light dimmage at all so thats why Im confused. I'll have to multimeter it.

What kind of amp is it? Some have built in limiting circuits that throttle them back when they get hot. Instead of going into protection and shutting down they power down until the heat dissipates then go back to full power.

Its a JBL BP1200.1 and the amp never gets hot, and does this within the first 5 mins of it being on when its cold.

i am just throwing this up but maybe upgrade ur wires and try a capacitor.... i dont know if it will work its just a thought.

Im thinking the big3 could probably help but I was just wondering why I would be having this problem now and not b4.

Did you ever put a multimeter on it? Did you make any changes to the system/car (add electronic components, remove wiring, or anything like that), prior to this happening? Also, do you still have any warranty on it, if it is the amp that's bad?
